What makes a good textbook for History Ext

I have been asked to select a new textbook for What is History? I rely upon an eclectic range of resources, and no doubt I will continue to do this, but would love to hear what teachers might have found useful for students to have as their text.

Cheryl,

I have found "The Houses of History" (Green and Troup) an excellent text. Ken Webb's "Extension History: the Historians" is also very useful, but "Houses of History" is great for its breadth and the sample chapters it provides.

Thanks for your input Greg. Houses of History has been on the top of my list, and it helps to get some confirmation at least.
