Teaching Union History in the 7-10 Syllabus
Permalink

Free Range Productions together with Unions NSW are currently performing some research to understand the current situtaion with teaching the union context in the 7-10 history syllabus. This research will inform the creation of materials for Trades Hall with the aim of showing students the important role of the Union movement in Australian history.

We are looking for 10 history teachers to participate in a focus group for 1-2 hours to help us understand the issues. We are looking for a wide range of ages, teaching backgrounds, schools and areas. We'd love to hear from passionate, experienced as well as beginning history teachers about how we can develop resources that help you to include union stories in your teaching of history.

The focus group is likely to be held one evening in the third week of Term 4, in Parramatta, with a cash incentive of $50 to participate. If you are unable to attend, we will also be conducting a survey and would appreciate your feedback.

If you are interested in being involved in the focus group or the survey please contact me directly on 0402 227 560 or email me at mail@freerangeproductions.com.au. Or if you know of someone suitable please forward this email onto them.

Thanks,

Tyler Freeman Smith
